Ducati may not have an electric motorcycle concept released to the public but when they do we hope it looks something similar to this rendering from design firm Italdesign.
Italdesign recently released a video with renderings of the electric concept inspired by the legendary 860 GT sports bike. I am a particular fan of retro inspired electric motorcycles, some created to a higher standard than others, and this example can be summed up in one word. Gorgeous.
It also seems only right that Italdesign is part of this bold design concept. One of the firms founders, Giorgetto Giugiaro was part of the design team on the original 860 GT. When released the bikes angular fuel tank and duck-tail seat were a little too much for the motorcycle community so Ducati resigned the bike two years later. Now it’s accepted as a beautiful motorcycle who’s design was ahead of its time.
