Zero Launches 2022 FXE With Aid Of HUGE Design

Zero combined with San Francisco’s Huge Design to create a motorcycle with tight, modular lines with an industrial stripped down design. Although the Zero FXEs style is taken from its cousin the FXS, the partnership with Huge Design has created some distinctive styling features in areas around panels, headlight, tail and touch points.

Zero’s new FXE has lost the goggle style twin headlights on the FXS and replaced them with more traditional single round LED with ‘beak’ plastic shroud. The display has also been upgraded to a new 5 inch TFT screen providing options such as ride mode and bike data.

Stopping power is via J.Juan brakes single-piston brakes with the Bosch ABS system. This provides confident braking with an easy pull of the brake lever providing a strong bite with solid stopping power. Suspension is provided with 41mm Showa inverted forks, providing 7 inches of travel and an adjustable rear Showa monoshock with a piggyback reservoir providing 8.9 inches of travel. .

Front and rear wheels are both 17″ and fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 tires. Seat height is 32.9 inches which will be a challenge for shorter riders but is quite standard on supermoto motorcycles.

Range on the Zero FXE shows this is still at city dwelling commuter rather than a highway trekker. Zero claims a range of 100 miles in city riding with 60 miles on the highway at 55 mph. Recharging the 7.2kWh battery takes 9.7 hours using the onboard 650W charger via a standard household socket, or for US$600 you can purchase a rapid charger which will complete the task in around 3 hours.

Display on the Zero FXE is a 5 inch full colour TFT design which provides and high quality bright illumination even in daylight conditions. This is running the Cypher II operating system which allows you to connect via your mobile phone to change parameters such as acceleration, top speed, brake regeneration and other performance tuning.

Zero have gone for full LED lighting on the FXE with is fantastic, the headlight, taillight and indicators are all LED providing a bright illumination with minimal power usage.
