The E-Pilen is the first concept motorcycle released by the Swedish Manufacturer. It features a range of up to 60 miles (100 kms) via a swappable lithium-ion battery.
With a push to move away from traditional combustion engine vehicles to cleaner, environmentally friendly electric mobility more manufacturers are taking the leap, the latest being Husqvarna.
Design wise the Husqvarna E-Pilen closely resembles the existing lineup of the Svartpilen and Vitpilen. The E-Pilen sports wide handlebars, a round headlamp, compact tank and a exposed trellis frame. The bike uses elements from both models including a paint scheme similar to the Vitpilen and the tank rack design from the Svartpilen. The concept bike also has inverted forks, monoshock rear suspension and a gullwing swingarm. It also carries the traditional motorcycle look with a fuel tank which actually houses the lithium-ion battery.
The E-Pilen will be manufactured in Pune, India at Baja’s factory, automaker is already involved with manufacturing of the KTM electric motorcycle. Husqvarna is expected to go into production of the electric motorcycle later in 2021.
