On the back of the very popular Sondor Metacycle the Ryvid Anthem electric motorcycle is one of the more innovative light electric motorcycles at an impressive price especially when taken into account it’s designed and assembled in the US.
The Ryvid Anthem design comes from engineers and designers in the automotive and light aircraft industries, with the CEO himself – a man by the name of Dong Tran – boasting a portfolio filled with bigwig names like Toyota, General Motors and BMW DesignWorks.
Designed for the commuter the Ryvid Anthem’s performance is never going knock your socks off but it comes with some really clever customisable features. For example seat height is simply adjusted by the press of a button on the handlebars. Meaning the shorter rider can have the seat up for the highway but lower when tackling urban intersections and traffic lights.
You also have two gear ratios to choose from, one designed for maximising highway speeds of up to 75 mph (120 km/h) while the other provides more torque for traffic light starts and city riding.
There’s also a clever design that allows the user to remove the battery if they don’t have the luxury of a garage or dedicated space for charging. The 4.3 kWh battery is too large and cumbersome to carry but the Ryvid Anthem has built-in wheels that let you pivot the battery down and then roll it into your workplace or apartment.
At 109kg (240lbs) the Ryvid Anthem is similar in weight to the Sondors Metacycle and much lighter than the likes of Zeros FXE at 136kg (299lbs). Combine this low overall weight with the 30kg (65lb) battery and motor carried low on the motorcycle and you have an easy manoeuvrable bike for negotiating crowded urban streets.
The Ryvid Anthem states a range of 75 miles (120 km) in Eco mode and 40-50 miles (64-80km) in Sport Mode. With a top speed of 75 mph (120 km/h) the highway can be part of your daily commute but range will markedly decrease on doing so. Priced at US$7800 (€7,519.00) The Ryvid Anthem can be ordered via the companies website in the US with delivery expected end 2023.
